Resolutions Failed and Lessons Learned
This year has pretty good overall. There were a couple ups and some downs, but on average I would say it was a net positive. My goals this year were pretty straight forward, so this post will be an overview on what my progress was. The format will be pretty essay like, so my apologies for the bore.
My first resolution was too write a post every day. I failed spectacularly. I assumed that after the first couple months I would get into a routine, and it would be a habit. I was terribly incorrect. After I started looking for a new job, I want able to keep up with my posts. The time I spent writing posts was converted to studying for interviews. And then once I did get a job, I was working extra to fix as many bugs before I left. After I failed, I decided it wasn't worth keeping up again, especially since most of the posts ended up being the same: "I worked today. Didn't sleep early. Etc." For next year, I'll probably compile it into weekly posts, and then have a section for each day. That way I can work on it in parts, when I have time during the week, and publish it on the weekends. This also gives me time to make up a day if I happen to be busy.
Goal two was to do quiet times everyday. Needless to say, this was also a failure. I attempted to do the daily verse from odb. But then decided that I wanted to do an actual devotion plan. I didn't put effort into finding a devotion plan I wanted to do. Next year I want to try this again. Wether it's odb or a reading plan.
Onto the weight lifting. I did not get to 45 this year. I wasn't even close. I don't think my vertical increased more than 1 inch if that. In the beginning of the year I started trying to lose weight for my crossplay, but I only lost muscle. This was very unhelpful for my goal. The loss also caused my injured shoulder to not recover well. Around the time I started my new job, I decided I want to make a lot of lifestyle changes, including exercising more, being more fashionable, and being more outgoing. Those last two didn't really happen, but I'm trying. I got a gym membership and started going 4 times a week with my friend Hiro. I think I've made a ton of progress. My goal for squatting was 250 (which now that I lift, that number does not make any sense) but I reached it.

Winding down from this past year, I'm thinking of what my resolutions are for next year, and how I can go about making sure I keep up with them. I'll probably need some better time management, but other than that I kind of want to try again for my last year's resolutions.
Thanks for reading, I'll see you guys next year!
