Week 23
Started my new job this week. Felt really stressful. Most of the on boarding was straightforward, and they had lists of things I should have complete. Got through most of it pretty early, so that was good. Then started working on new stuff, and I had no idea what to do ><. Like mostly things I didn't get to look at while going through the on boarding, and so I struggled. Lots of struggling. I decided to go through a little more new things and I guess I'm understanding a little more. Hopefully I can get it done really early this coming week.
I also ordered a USB cable DIY kit. So I attempted soldering the cables to the usb connectors. I was so excited to actually put it together, got a heatgun, a soldering station, solder. Like all the supplies. So it was actually way too hard, cuz the usb c connector had really tiny pads on it. I spend at least 8 hours trying to redo it to make it work out. Eventually got it working but its pretty low quality, and the cable shorts if the connector is not completely straight. Probably going to get another kit and try again.
Another thing, when I was buying supplies I specifically looked up unleaded solder on Amazon. Unfortunately, the top suggested solder for that search was lead solder. I didn't read the description and just bought it, so hopefully I'm not going to die. I'm kind of freaking out b/c I don't know if I washed my hands well enough, or if there's lead on my keyboard/desk that I shouldn't touch/if I'll get lead poisoning from eating something at my desk now. :| If I'm still alive next week, I guess it'll be fine right? Hopefully nothing too bad happens. I also bought some actual unleaded solder so I'm going to throw out the lead solder and clean up my soldering stuff.
