Week 44
So last week was pretty chill... We started a new sprint at work, and I went back to finishing up my remaining tasks from my on call week. I also started working on new things that I pulled this week ( most of them are done/in code review right now). Because the feature is working now, I started working on making integration tests this Friday. I ended up working until like 2am (breaked for gym of course) because there were some really dumb issues happening with the tests. Essentially I forgot to await one function... so the results were being inconsistent. Also there was a design flaw in some of the old code causing a page to load a second time after the initial navigation to it. Basically made the browser go back to the page even though I had already navigated away to start the next test.
Also got a ton of my packages for keyboard stuff last week. Lots of keycaps, and switches. I'm expecting a couple more things to ship this coming week so uh... tons of things to look forward to. I've been using linear switches, but I got two different sets of tactiles this week, and tried them out. They feel better to type on, but really mess up my timing when I'm playing games. I wish they would have the bump when the key actuates, but it's always right before instead. It causes a slight delay when I'm trying to time my key presses. I'm going back to my linear switches, and it's a little fatiguing since the springs feel a little heavier. Guess I'll have to get used to it.
I also got the kindle this week. In middle school/high school ( I forget which) there was a novel I bought at Barnes & Noble, "Through the Darkness", that I enjoyed reading. I ended up giving it to someone for secret santa since they asked for a 1000+ page book. Although now that I think about it, it wasn't actually 1000 pages... Anyways, I had forgotten and tried looking for the book for a couple years. Decided to buy the entire series... so I'm starting from the first novel and plan to work my way through them all. Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions though, I'll look into them next! :3
This weekend, I also got to play volleyball! Michael organized a grass game. I was so excited, but my timing was completely off, since I didn't have a ceiling to reference. Also I threw my shoulder out because I did a full power swing and completely whiffed the ball............ Going to go to PT this coming week, to hopefully fix it... or figure out how to prevent it from happening again. If I can figure out how to not hurt myself, that would be great. At least the next time I play in a volleyball league won't be in a while. I'm hoping my shoulder will be fixed by then.
