Week 47

This past week, work has felt pretty slow. Most of my important tasks have already been completed, and most of the week was spent going back and forth doing small iterations until my team signed off on my code. I also spent probably 2 days troubleshooting some integration tests because they were running perfectly on my laptop and developer box, but not on the test server. It ended up being a single import because the test server was running a slightly different environment. Anyways, I finally got that all merged in today, and verified that it was working. For some reason, the deployments to the test servers were super slow early in the afternoon so… I ended up waiting a couple hours for it. Might be something with the deployment servers, or just the fact that so many separate code changes were merged in one at a time, causing it to restart the deployment before the previous one finished. Or something completely different.

This past week I also ended up ordering a couple more keyboard parts. Again. This time I got them secondhand, which was a little sad since I forgot to order them during the Groupbuys. Aftermarket prices are like 2x the groupbuy prices. This time I got the GMK Olivia++ keycaps. For some reason, I really like the soft pink/white/salmon color schemes. I already have GMK Peach Blossoms and the Maxkey Pink&White, and joined the group buy for SA Bliss and GMK Pono (can probably Google those to see pictures). I have too many… but everytime I’m like wow this looks nice, what if I regret not getting now? Don’t wanna pay 2x the price later… I also got some more switches, the NK Blueberries, so I can try them out. I’m probably gonna post a short review on the switches I already have, in case anyone is interested.

Physical therapy has been going… There’s still some pain in my shoulder when I swing, which is… not great? And the worst part is I can’t really describe it well, like where the pain is or what causes it. Also, when they ask me if something hurts, I’m like: “Well it does hurt, but probably because you’re stretching it. Also it’s not that bad, and I can tolerate it so not sure if that’s what you’re looking for.” And I assume they’re asking for when it’s really bad pain, on the level of when I swing, and that basically never happens… unless I swing. Also didn’t play volleyball this weekend so there wasn’t a chance to lose my progress which is nice I guess. Let’s see if there’s more improvement this week.

Gyming really started the vertical jump classes this weekend. Which meant more exercises. I can feel how they could help, and am pretty hopeful to see how much progress I can make. Also got to try using a hypervolt. It was really nice. Was thinking if I should get one earlier, but now I really want one… I’ll probably wait for it to go on sale first though…
